October 05, 2007
Below are the latest updates on current TD-SCDMA developments.

- China's Yulong Computer, a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Wireless, announced on October 4 that it was awarded a subsidy of approximately 1.5 million RMB (US$199,840; US$1 = 7.5 RMB) from the Chinese government last month for the development and commercialization of TD-SCDMA/GSM dual-mode terminal devices which support HSDPA as well. Annual shipment volume of these new devices is expected to reach 40,000 units when mass production commences, XFN-ASIA reported.

- According to a press release by US-based Agilent, the company has launched a TD-SCDMA calibration solution, codenamed E6835A, for TD-SCDMA mobile phone makers. Other than TD-SCDMA, this multi-format solution also support calibration for mobile phones based on GSM/GPRS/EDGE, WCDMA/HSDPA, and CDMA2000/1xEV-DO. This solution allows mobile phone manufacturers to shorten the test process, lower manufacturing and testing costs, and speed up time-to-market for their TD-SCDMA/GSM dual-mode terminal devices.
